This model completes the full line of Barfield digital pitot-static/air data testers. All attributes of the air data tester are fully automatic and require no manual sequencing of valves or regulators. The unit features entirely automatic control through a menu-driven high-contrast electroluminescent display and tactile membrane keypad. The automated controller mechanically generates and continuously sustains the input altitude, airspeed, or VSI values.
This air data test set precisely maintains the selected input values (Ps, PT, airspeed, altitude, etc.), compensating for any pressure variations caused by system leaks. An accurate vibrating element sensor on the static channel ensures highly reliable altitude measurement and simulation. This level of accuracy and stability qualifies the unit for certifying aircraft under RVSM procedures and extends the calibration interval from one month to once per year.
